About Jack Murphy, Founder of CAN

Mr. Murphy, founder of College Advising Now, has over 30 years of experience in college counseling. Prior to becoming an independent counselor and consultant, he was a teacher, as well as a college counselor and adviser at International and American schools around the world, including schools in Europe, Asia, South America, and Africa. In addition, he coached many years of soccer (football) and other high school sports. 

During his educational career, Mr. Murphy served a number of schools as the Director of College Counseling and University Advising. He continues to consult with international schools in developing, assessing, and improving their college advising programs.

He is a member of the Higher Education Consultants Association and abides by all professional rules, regulations, and guidelines associated with best practices and ethics in college counseling. Mr. Murphy maintains close relationships with former colleagues and other highly experienced counselors. 

Mr. Murphy has assisted over 2,000 students in discovering their best college/university fit. The diversity of his experience in the field of U.S. and international student counseling and advising is unmatched and provides a distinct advantage for any student clients in the college and university admission process. He is currently accepting clients from the U.S. and internationally. 

He and his wife reside near Boston, MA, and on Cape Cod.
